Wesley fell in love with the moving and beautiful piece called, “Meditation.”  Wesley practiced, studied Joshua Bell’s performance, and his recital brought complements from everyone at Colburn.  His recording won 2nd prize in the international Great Composer’s competition.

Wesley Wells 2nd place international violin competition

“The Bach Double” is a rite of passage for all young violinists.  Wesley grew up seeing the older kids playing the Bach Double, and dreamed of the day when he would learn this amazing and difficult piece.  When his turn arrived, Wesley worked harder than he ever had then or since.  The result was “bravos” from the audience and a first place award in the Great Composers International Competition.

Okay, this performance didn’t win awards, but it was a lot of fun!
