Diversity Trio

The Joseph Bologne Quartet’s educational concerts are an exciting combination of live music, historic story-telling, and hands on music lessons!

Quartet members take turns telling about a composer of color through the use of pictures and demonstrations after which the quartet plays an example of that composer’s music.  The audience is invited to ask questions at every point in the interactive program.

The Quartet members also explain how stringed instruments work and how they play the violins.  How science and art combine to produce the art of music.  The Quartet members then invite any audience members, young and old, to try to play a violin and get a free music lesson right then and there.

CDs and DVDs are offered, the proceeds of which all go to the Joseph Bologne Quartet Non-Profit which buys instruments for students who cannot afford to own their own violins.
